Decluttered entertainment system

Though the holiday season is for spending time with loved ones, there is no denying the gift exchanges and white elephant parties that often fill your calendar for the month of December. Did your family member recently gift you seasons one and two of a new TV show? Did your child receive the video game he wrote to Santa about? If you’re looking around your entertainment system and wondering how it will fit on your already cluttered console, look no further than this article! Here are three ways to declutter your entertainment system to make a more enjoyable entertainment experience for the whole family.

Declutter and Get Rid of Unused Items in Your Entertainment System

The first step to making the entertainment system of your dreams is to get rid of everything you no longer use. Do you have DVDs and video games collecting dust on the shelves? Especially now in the digital age, there are a lot of movies we may already have on digital platforms that we no longer need a physical copy of. Going through and donating the items you no longer use is a great way to give back! It also leads to a cleaner, more organized entertainment system. That way, everything stored in your entertainment system are items you use.

Organize the DVDs and CDs in Your Entertainment Stand

Do you spend so much time sorting through old DVDS on family movie night, that everyone falls asleep halfway through the movie? To avoid this problem, organize your media console to make picking what to watch next easy! One way to do this is to separate your movies by genre. Additionally, If any of your movies are part of a series, group those together! Video games can be organized by type. For example, sports video games can be grouped, while puzzle video games can be in a different section. CDs can be grouped by genre and then further grouped by artist. There are many different ways to organize the items in your entertainment system. Find which one works best for you! Then make a point of putting it back in its place once finished using it!

Store Electronics in Baskets

Baskets are a great place to store items like game controllers and chargers, because those are items that we typically don’t need out all the time. Labeling each basket is another great organizing hack. This way, you don’t have to go sorting through all of the baskets to find what you’re looking for. You know exactly where it is by simply reading the labels you designated to each basket. Adding labeled baskets allows you to have a clean entertainment system while keeping the items in a place that’s easily accessible. This way you know exactly where they are when you need them.
