5 Tips To Stay Organized For Back to School

School bus stop

School bus stop While it may seem like there’s plenty of time before the start of the new school year, we here at Closet and Storage Concepts of Charlotte, North Carolina believe that it’s never to early to start preparing for the next big change in your life. Staying organized is hard, but by getting started sooner rather than later, and using these helpful tips, you’ll be able to have a smooth transition from summer to the school year, with none of the stress and hassle that often comes with these times of tumultuous change.

  1. Shop During Off-Peak Hours

When it comes to back to school shopping, one of the most unpleasant aspects comes from the sheer number of other shoppers. Try to shop early in the morning on weekdays to avoid the weekend crowds of other frazzled shoppers.

  1. Determine What You Need in Advance

When you’re shopping for the new school year, you can get easily overwhelmed by all the deals and shiny new products. Make a list of the things you need in advance, and don’t deviate from that list. If clothes are getting too small after a growth spurt, then you’ll definitely want to replace those, but things like backpacks or lunch boxes are often fine to be reused.

  1. Create a Budget

Determine how much money you’ll be willing to spend, and then stick to it. This will help you to cut down on costs during this expensive shopping season.

  1. Ease Into the Schedule

Rather than throwing the kids into the deep end of the school schedule by switching from summer sleep-ins to strict early schedules, plan ahead so that you can make the transition as smooth as possible. Slowly wake them up a little earlier each day, and by the time the first day of school comes around, they’ll be plenty prepared to face the day.

  1. Do A Dry Run

Having a practice run of the first day under your belt will make it much easier to anticipate and face any potential hiccups when the actual first day rolls around. Pick out the outfits for the kids, plan their breakfasts and lunches, and pick a route, then run through it just as you would on the first day. This way when you actually have to navigate the first day, you’ll be plenty prepared!
