Holiday cookies and baked treats
Cookies and baked goods are often go-to holiday gifts and dishes. Making and gifting special holiday cookies are even a tradition for many families. But with so many activities and things to do during this time of year, it can be easy to get flustered and disorganized. The team at Closet & Storage Concepts here in Longmont are ready to make sure you have everything you need to bake your goodies and deliver them on time.

Check Your List Twice

Be like Santa and make sure you check your ingredient list twice. This will prevent multiple grocery trips, which can be disruptive once you start baking. Be sure to check all your food storage areas before you head so you don’t buy items you already have. Add any tools that you’ll need as well.

Find Tins and Baggies

If you’ll be gifting out your baked goods, you’ll need to buy or find containers. Also be sure to add ribbons, cupcake liners, and other decorations to your shopping list if you want to add extra holiday spirit to your gifts. Purchase a few more than you think you’ll need in case you need to make a last-minute gift or if some turn out poorly.

Set a Baking Schedule

Finding time to accomplish everything during the holidays is often the most difficult thing to do. Creating a schedule can help you stay organized. Use your schedule to plan out what days and times you plan to bake certain items. Also, consider the temperatures of the items you’re baking. This can help dictate what items to bake first.

Bring out Ingredients

Before you begin baking, bring out all the ingredients and tools you’ll need for a recipe. Stow or put aside excess ingredients that you’ll be using later. Focusing on one recipe at a time can make it easier so you’re not constantly going into your pantry or getting confused with measurements. An organized pantry system can help make it easier to find ingredients when you need them. If you’re having difficulties finding all of your supplies and tools, consider a remodel in the coming year.

Enlist Some Elves

You don’t have to do everything on your own! Enlist some elves to help. Including young ones on certain tasks can help keep them pre-occupied during the school break, and help you finish faster. If you think including them during the process would be more trouble than it’s worth, you can always them to help with other tasks while you’re baking such as wrapping presents or tidying up their rooms.
