4 Smart Ways to Organize the Clothes in Your Closet

Closet & Storage Concepts Colorful Closet Organization

At Closet & Storage Concepts of Las Vegas, we know the last thing you want to do when you wake up in the morning is spend 15 minutes looking for that one shirt you feel like wearing. An unorganized closet can steal precious time from your morning routine, giving you less time for other important rituals like breakfast or exercising.

Here are four ways to reclaim your morning by reclaiming (and better organizing) your closet:

By color – When you think of a certain dress or shirt you want to wear you’re usually searching your closet for “the blue dress” or “my green shirt.” So one natural way to save time in the mornings by organizing your closet is to do so by color. Start by removing your clothes and then grouping them by color. Then hang them in order of what color you have most of to what color you have least. Then all you have to do is go to the right section of your closet to more easily find the item of clothing you want.

By type – Another smart way to reorganize a messy closet is to sort by the type of clothes in your closet. First hang all of your dresses, then blouses, shirts, skirts, jeans, slacks and so on. You can have as many sections as you’d like, but if you know what section of your closet a certain item is in, then you’ll spend less time searching for it.

By season – For those who own a smaller closet and don’t remove items to put in storage during certain seasons, then this might be the best option for you. Simply section of your closet by the clothes you wear in the winter, spring, summer, and fall. This will make for an effortless transition between seasons and save you time throughout the year.

By preference – Some individuals own a lot of clothes even though they really only wear a small portion of them. If this is you, then you might want to consider a complete closet overhaul to save you more time. If not, then it may be a good idea to keep your favorite items in the front or first part of your closet grouped together so you don’t have to search through clothes you hardly wear. It also might be smart to use an additional method of organization listed above.

We hope these tips will help you save valuable time in your morning routine and inspire a more organized and stress-free lifestyle.
