The kitchen is one of the rooms we spend the most time in, but it can often be forgotten about when it comes to organizing. Most people have no problem keeping the kitchen clean, but the thought of organizing the pantry, cupboards, and fridge can be a little overwhelming. It may take some time, but organizing the kitchen and getting rid of unused items will save you ample time in the future. The organizational experts at Closet Storage Concepts of Nevada share their tips below!
Get Rid of Any Unused Kitchen Supplies
Remember when you bought that garlic press that hasn’t been used yet? If an item has been sitting in a drawer unused for the past year then you probably don’t need it. On the other hand, there may be an item that you use but have too many of. Really think about what you actually use and donate any kitchen supplies that are no longer useful.
Label Containers
Instead of keeping items that are eaten on a weekly basis like pasta, nuts, or cereal in their original boxes, put them in containers with labels. This looks nicer, makes items easier to find, and allows for more storage because the containers fit together nicely.
Throw Out Old Food
There’s a good chance that you have a few old items of food in the pantry or fridge that need to be thrown out. It can be easy to forget about food that gets pushed to the back of the fridge or cupboard. Look at dates, check the freshness, and get rid of any food that has expired.
Clear Off the Counters
If there’s a toaster on the counter that only gets used a few times a year, find a new place for it in the cupboards. The kitchen will look and feel more organized with fewer items on the counters.
Clean It Up!
Now that the kitchen is organized, it’s time to give it a deep clean. With so many items being thrown away or moved, it’s a good idea to wipe down all of the surfaces.
