Kitchen Storage in Modesto

With the last days of winter in sight, many of us are thinking of beginning our annual spring cleaning and organizing. If the thought of de-cluttering your home has you wishing for a few more weeks of winter, don’t worry. The experts at Closet & Storage Concepts Modesto have plenty of experience helping people get organized. Here’s a list of three places in your home to get started, along with a few ideas of how you can add some storage if needed.

Kitchen & Pantry

Because kitchens are usually one of the smallest rooms in the house and require the least amount of reorganizing, they are a great place to start your organizing project.

The key is to use your space wisely by keeping the items you’ll use most often this summer where they will be easy to reach. This usually means stowing winter items like the casserole dishes and potato mashers in the pantry so items like vegetable steamers and salad tongs can have a more prominent place in the kitchen.

If after you’ve organized, you find that you’re still having to shuffle items around to get to the ones you need, you may want to think about adding some custom pantry storage, like an extra cabinet or adjustable shelving.

Laundry & Utility Rooms

If your laundry or utility room acts as a place for your family to take off muddy shoes, to store umbrellas, or drop their snowboarding gear on the way into the house, you know how dirty and cluttered these rooms can get.

While it may be too late to do anything about the current situation, other than cleaning up the dirt and banishing winter items to the garage, you can take steps to keep the problem from re-occurring. Think about how your household will be using the area during the next few months and designate spaces for the summer items that are likely to appear.

If storage is an issue here, we offer several storage solutions for laundry and utility rooms that can help, including cubbies, storage hooks, and many more.

Garage

While cleaning and organizing your garage typically is a bigger job and takes more time than other areas of the house, the principle is still the same. You want to keep items that your family will use this summer where you can get to them quickly, while still clearing as much floor space in the garage as possible. Depending on how long it has been since your garage was thoroughly organized, you may need to do a little purging of items your family no longer uses.

If you’ve done that and you still need to add a bit of storage, there are a number of custom garage storage solutions including custom shelving, cabinetry, and slat boards, that our designers can use to create the perfect garage storage for you.
