Fall often signals the return to school, adventures to pumpkin patches, and gathering around for sporting events. Sporting events and parties prove that the game time huddle isn’t just reserved for the players. No matter if you’re hosting an intimate group of friends or a whole tailgating gang, the Philadelphia and South Jersey team at Closet & Storage Concepts is here to help you just in time for your next game time get together.
Start the game day festivities off right by tackling your entryway. Be sure to have enough room in the coat closet for all of your guests by giving it a quick organization session by making sure there are enough hangers, or by moving your pieces temporarily to other rooms if possible. Removable hooks in your mudroom, a coat rack stand or rolling closet shelf are also other great temporary storage solutions. If you prefer that guests take off their shoes, a small step stool and shoe storage area are great to make the process easy.
The Viewing Area
This area will be key to have spiffed up before your get together as it will likely be the main area that people gather – it will be the space of your main event. Make sure cords are tucked away for your TV, sound system, or cable box to give your space a streamlined look. You can achieve this by consolidating your systems into smaller units (it’s amazing how technology has evolved) or even with a custom media center. Don’t be afraid to go the custom route if you find that you need to create enough space for all of your items including the TV, audiovisual equipment, DVDs, and Blu-Rays or other digital media. Do away with remotes by consolidating down to one or try a centralized system.
Snacks & Food
A great party isn’t great without yummy food. Make a menu ahead of time to make pregame shopping stress free. From chips and salsa, pizza and burgers, clear out space in your fridge, freezer, and pantry to make room for everything. Try dividers to keep the party food separate from the food you consume daily, if necessary, to help when preparing the food. Be sure to consider any dietary restrictions as you prepare.
No matter the size of your Philadelphia, South Jersey, or Delaware home, it might be beneficial to consider overflow areas. Creating and preparing zones in your home ahead of time can help reduce stress if surprise guests arrive. Overflow and separate areas for kids can be especially helpful for all attending guests no matter their age.
