If you’re like us and you’re feeling the effects of the winter blues, it’s time to get out of your rut. Here are just a few things our designers do at Closet & Storage Concepts of Marlton, NJ to stay healthy and happy throughout the winter. relaxing on a winter night

Snuggle Up

Although things are already starting to warm back up in the greater Philadelphia, PA area, it’s still a great time to curl and snuggle up. Here are a few projects you can focus on.

Get into a better mood with your sense of smell. Pine scents and other heavier fragrances are perfect for a night in. Try your hand at making your own candles using leftover canning jars. If you have an empty or unusable fireplace, put it to good use by making it a storage area. It’s a great place to store books or new candles. To snuggle up when reading, reuse your old tattered shirts and blankets to make a new quilt. Repurposing can help you reduce clutter and help the environment, too.

Natural and Cozy Additions

Another way to beat the winter blues is by adding life into your home – starting with the décor. Plants, other greenery, and natural elements are all good starters. It can be as easy as replanting one of your favorite plants or trying your hand at a macramé hanging planter. There are a number of how-to videos if you’d like to try making one.

Jazz Up Your Outfit

Decorating doesn’t have to end in your home. Re-decorate your winter wardrobe. If you’re on a new health kick, try spicing up your gym attire. Try a fun print on your shirts or pants to get you pumped for a great work out. Adding some sparkle to an outfit with statement jewelry is another way to boost your mood. For an easy DIY project, try adding a personalized message or monogram to your favorite scarf. This works great with thick wool blended scarves. Add items to your wardrobe that help boost your mood, just be sure that your closet doesn’t get overloaded!

Custom Storage Projects

If you’re looking to be more organized, we have a couple of other suggestions to try this winter – plus they’re budget-friendly. Start with creating some shelving. Old wooden crates can work especially well if your home has a rustic style. They help contain pieces from jewelry to art. A storage ottoman is another great way to add storage in your home. Simply upgrade an existing stool or find a thrift find and DIY away. When you really want to maximize space, call in the storage experts at Closet & Storage Concepts. Our designers will work with you to create a one-of-a-kind system that works for your life and home. Proudly serving the greater Philadelphia-metro and South Jersey area including The Shore, Cherry Hill, and Marlton.
